Mechanical Engineer

Location: Futian District, Shenzhen, China

Report to: Mechanical Manager

The Mechanical Engineer will assist Mechanical Manager to design the external and internal mechanical enclosures and assemblies of our consumer solar-powered lighting and energy devices, including solar-powered lanterns, phone chargers, solar home systems, and other consumer durable products.  The products typically have plastic enclosures, and are designed for high reliability and environmental compatibility.

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical design in R&D.

Requirements for the role:

1. Required:  Experience designing external and internal mechanical designs of high-volume consumer products.

2. Required:  Experience designing high-durability (shock-resistant) and water-resistant / waterproof consumer products.

3. Required:  Experience in mechanical CAD software (Pro E or Solidworks experience required.  Solidworks experience preferred).

4. Required: Familiar with product development procedure.

5. Required:  Experience in design of injection-molded plastic and stamped metal components.

6. Required:  Good written and reading English.  .

7. Preferred:  Experience designing consumer lighting products (eg. desk lamps, flashlights, solar lanterns).

8. Preferred:  Experience working in an international company in a product-design role.

9. Preferred:  Fluency in Mandarin Chinese.
