Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for identification, on-boarding   and development of new suppliers to KI to establish contingency, additional   capability and maintain cost competitiveness within the supply chain. Ensures   regular audits are conducted of supply base to confirm adherence to KI and   customer requirements.

Manages key supplier relationships; assists   and directs daily communications between KI Asia team and supply base for   materials scheduling, projects, engineering, tooling, and quality.

Directs KI Asia team to proactively address   process/production issues to ensure customer schedules are met and permanent   corrective/preventive actions implemented system wide using best practices,   lessons learned and error-proofing across the supply base.

Ensures robust manufacturing practices on   new programs to ensure successful launch based on critical path time line   considering cumulative lead times.

Promotes continuous focus with KI Asia team   on cost reduction through lean thinking, elimination of waste, and process   improvements working with supply base and the international KI team.

Ensures KI Asia team meets goals and   objectives established for budget, supplier ratings and strategic   initiatives.

Serves as legal representative of the RO   and oversees administrative and compliance matters.

Qualifications:

A least fifteen (15) years experience in   operations management working with manufacturing companies required. Experience   managing supply base with distribution in North America required.

At least ten (10) years experience related   to supplier development, including identification, on-boarding and continued development of the supply chain to establish contingency, additional capability and maintain cost competitiveness within the supply chain

Experience with plastic electro-plating in   automotive industry required.

Experience with plastic injection molding and   die casting as well as secondary operations such as PVD, transfer printing,   painting, laser etching, and assembly required.

Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or   Science.

Fluent in English – written and verbal

Working knowledge and understanding of   quality management systems: ISO 9001, ISO / TS16949, ISO 14000, VDA 6.3

Strong leadership skills.

Must be able to effectively communicate   with all levels of KI and KI’s supplier organizations.

Must have ability to prioritize, be   organized, and have excellent time management skills.

Computer experience with skills related to   Microsoft Office applications.

Able to travel internationally. Travel to   assigned suppliers and customers.    

Frequency will be determined by the priority level of projects/issues/problems which need to be covered/resolved.
