Job responsibility:
Set up assembly
production line/equipment for laser systems.
- Implements and
analyzes Manufacturing Engineering plans and projects.
- Develops manufacturing
strategies for specific products.
- Acts as New Product Introduction
Engineer, interfaces with Product Development during the transition and
release of new products.
- Coordinate sustaining
tasks on the manufacturing floor to ensure ramp for newly introduced
products and processes are met and product defects are quickly eliminated.
- Review and update
manufacturing costs, determines time standards, and makes recommendations
for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines.
- Maintains Operational
Method Sheets and creates Engineering Change Orders for existing product
lines.
- Develops plans to
improve product quality, process robustness, reduce variances, improve
yield, and executes against proposed plan.
- Promote high standards
of workmanship as defined by documentation while maintaining safety and
(where applicable) proper clean room procedures.
Knowledge:
- Possess
solid laser background knowledge of manufacturing processes, and good
troubleshooting skills preferred;
- Applied
fundamental knowledge of laser technology preferred;
- Able to
Coordinate between multiple departments to complete assigned tasks;
- Structure
Bill of Materials with regard to how product is assembled and tested;
- Implement
continuous improvement programs to reduce cost, and improve quality,
improve yield and delivery performance on both newly released and existing
products;
- Must be a
“hands on” person comfortable in the role of improving existing product
and implement new and improved processes to the production floor via DFX,
etc;
- The ability
to function effectively as an individual contributor as well as
significantly impact TEAM initiatives and efforts;
- Responsible
for Maintain, monitor and improve Operational Method Sheets, routings and
associated processes to specific products;
- Change
Control: Engineering Change;
- Analyze and
disposition component defects and eliminate via root cause corrective
actions;
- Makes
decisions regarding priorities and problem solving;
- Knowledge
and experience with lasers and optics, machine/model shop skills;
- Knowledge with PCBA manufacturing process such
as SMT, Wave Soldering process and Cable assembly process.
Experience:
- B.S. Engineering in discipline,
Physics, or related field or 3 years applicable experience;
- Good working knowledge of Amplifier
laser systems;
- Excellent systems level trouble-shooting
skills;
- Good electronics trouble-shooting
skills;
- Excellent communication skills and
Team working sprits. Fluent English language written and oral
communications skills;
- Strong Leadership skills;
- Be proficient
in utilization of AutoCAD or Solidworks;
