SUMMARY OF POSITION: Develop sourcing strategies and manage all third-party contract manufacturing commercial relationships including supplier identification, negotiation, selection and development in support of the Travel and Access category requirements. Maintain and develop a high level of marketplace intelligence with a keen understanding of the third-party manufacturing commercial marketplace. Ensure continuity of supply while sustaining long-term, mutually beneficial supplier relationships.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop, negotiate, implement and manage contracts, strategies, processes, and tactics to procure goods and services; achieving cost, quality, and service goals which ensure attainment of business objectives.
• Identify, assess, engage, and develop appropriate finished goods contract manufacturing partners and key tier two suppliers supporting category critical few, quality, cost, delivery, and innovation requirements.
• Develop global manufacturing strategies that minimize total landed cost, maximize supply chain flexibility and responsiveness while mitigating risk of supply disruption.
• Manage strategic supplier performance and relationships. Ensure continuous improvement and encouragement of innovative ideas.
• Serve as primary point of contact for the commercial relationship with all assigned contract manufacturers.
• Lead cross-functional quarterly business reviews with contract manufacturers and maintain supplier scorecard with key suppliers.
• Analyzes supplier capacity/availability and establishes risk mitigation plans.
• Support Categories and engineering on new product development, by selecting appropriate supplier, negotiate for better quote and terms to meet category’s target on cost, capability, speed and flexibility.
• Work with suppliers and global strategic sourcing on raw material market analysis and impact assessments, and launch the negotiation for best cost & term if needed.
• Support supplier material inventory analysis and cost reduction phase-in planning.
• Maintain critical few, Balance Score Card measures and cost reduction tracking. Present results to Director quarterly.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Capable of presenting manufacturing and sourcing strategies to all levels of management with supporting analysis and assumptions. Must demonstrate a complete understanding of quantitative/qualitative analysis.
• 10 or more years direct experience managing internal or external manufacturing involving injection molding, blow molding, thermoforming operations.
• Strong business knowledge/experience with manufacturing, supply chain, contract negotiations, cost-modeling, engineering and product development.
• Strong leader with superior analytical skills, exceptional oral and written communication skills, and can see the “big picture” while paying attention to the detail.
• Possess the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and build strong working relationships at all levels of the organization.
• Strong ability to influence. Must have high level of personal credibility as a spokesperson for global manufacturing operations and supply chain management.
• Must have excellent problem-solving skills.
• Significant international travel required.
