Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

Manage a portfolio of 1 bln RMB spending yearly, with over 300 suppliers, in a high volume manufacturing environment

Lead a team of around 20 people

Manage global sourcing activities in connection with other purchasing offices around the worlds

Follow procurement activities for the factory, ensuring on time delivery

Work in close contacts with other departments to ensure successful development of new products

Establish and implement purchasing policies, procedures and best practices

Monitor ongoing compliance with purchasing policies and procedures

Identify and source new suppliers and vendors

Manage vendor and supplier selection process based on price, quality, support, capacity and reliability

troubleshoot cost, quality and delivery concerns

Monitor purchase variances and drive cost reduction initiatives

Performance manage, develop and motivate purchasing staff

Report at regular basis to Purchasing Director about purchasing issues

Education and Experience:

Degree in business, commerce, engineering or related field

10 years experience in purchasing with progressively increasing roles 

Coming from industrial products, experience in metal processing, plastic injection and electric components

Experience in foreign invested company

Strong analytical skills

Good team player. We do not need a primadonna style leadership, but a person who is hands-on on the problems and capable to work with all other departments

People management experience

Knowledge of purchasing and supply chain systems, LEAN principles of planning and MRP/ERP systems often required
