My client is a global multinational organisation operating across multiple commodities markets and support businesses including, agricultural products, foods, oils, metals, logistics and shipping. With 34,000 staff worldwide and global revenues totaling USD $46 billion, this market leading company has committed to continued investment in China as one of its strategically important, high growth markets. As part of this investment, they are now looking at add capability to their senior management team by appointing a new role: Supply Chain Director.
Job Description
Reporting to the CEO for China you will be responsible for delivering a programme of operational improvement throughout the business including several manufacturing plants, trading platforms and shipping and logistics operations. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities for achieving cost savings and efficiencies whilst also mitigating operational and commercial risk. You will also provide strategic direction on CAPEX and OPEX investment decisions relating to their overall supply chain network and infrastructure. You will manage senior stakeholders and demonstrate the benefits of implementing lean practices in to their operational business units. You will also be directly involved with Production and Supply Chain operations within individual business units, identifying opportunities for improvements and delivering them successfully, whilst supporting the ongoing business operations.
The Successful Applicant
The successful applicant with be a seasoned Supply Chain and Production professional with broad experience of delivering lean improvements to complex, multi national business operations; including significant exposure to working in China. You will be comfortable managing senior stakeholders, often with conflicting interests. You will have a proven track record of gaining the sponsorship of the business unit heads. You will also be hands-on with the Supply Chain and Production functions of the individual business units in order understand the opportunities for improvement. Ultimately you will be responsible for making the right strategic decisions and delivering change successfully. Candidates will be considered from a broad range of industries including, but not limited to process industries and general manufacturing.
