Job Description - Sourcing Specialist

ProductEVO (www.productevo.io) is a team of driven and talented individuals who are professionals at delivering great products to our clients and their customers. Based in St. George, Utah, USA, we have a fun work environment as we strive to help people enjoy the outdoors with the products we build.

We are seeking a motivated individual to serve as a Sourcing Specialist based in our Dongguan, China office. While it is preferred this person is based out of Dongguan, qualified candidates will be considered if living in other manufacturing centers in China.

What Your Day Looks Like

The ideal Sourcing Specialist should love finding materials, factories, and technology to help us hit our target quality and prices. They should love working with product teams and factories to help our clients bring their new products to market.

They will work with the USA Sales team to review and understand new product designs and requirements and be committed to finding the best factory partners at target prices to build these products. They will develop and strengthen relationships with factories to create an ideal product development environment at these factories.

Specifically, the Job Responsibilities Are:

· Work with the Sales and Product Management teams to review all Request for Quote (RFQ) documents, drawings, and technical specifications to ensure an understanding of a products purpose and use.

· Research, audit and qualify the best factories to work as partners with ProductEVO for building each of the various products.

· Maintain the factory database to ensure all information is up-to-date and accurate.

· Understand the process strengths and weaknesses of the factories in our database.

· Effectively communicate technical information to factories while also communicating any issues with the USA team.

· Request quotes for samples, tooling, and production manufacturing from qualified factories based on the RFQ and technical information.

· Maintain all product documentation from the factories and ensure the USA and China Project Managers have the most up-to-date documentation.

· Visit factories on a regular basis to establish and maintain strong relationships and review processes and conditions.

Qualifications

· Native Chinese speaker.

· Proficient in English.

· University degree in a technical or related field.

· Minimum of five years of experience sourcing and working directly with factories in a variety of fields and industries.

· Established relationships with factory contacts and an understanding of Chinese business culture.

· General knowledge in various manufacturing processes with preferred expertise in plastics, metals, and assembly processes.

· General knowledge of materials, specifically plastics and metals.

· General knowledge of 3D software and 3D CAD viewing to review designs and products.

You Need the Following:

· Trustworthy and works with integrity.

· Strong computer skills (Mac or Windows based).

· Must have a car to travel within area to visit factories (travel costs are reimbursed). Must be willing to travel throughout China.

· Curious as to how things work and are made.

· Does not accept a “no” answer easily and will ask appropriate follow-up questions to really understand a problem.

· Good communication skills.

· Good understanding of the financial concerns of a business.
